Skin discolouration can be the result from the effects of sunlight, but often is due to a variety of different influences which triggers the over-production of localised skin pigment (melanin) formation.
MELANIN protects us from the adverse effects of strong sunlight, but occasionally due to other accompanying influences such as hormones, trauma, illness, medication even pregnancy results in more localised areas of melanin over-production.
These result in hyperpigmented areas as seen in 'sun spots', 'age spots', 'liver spots' - or solar lentigines
Also hyperpigmentation develops after localised damage from acne, burns, scarring, post pregancy (pregnancy mask) and during the menopause around the upperlip, chin, cheek or forehead areas.
SO WHAT IS THIOSPOT ?
THIOSPOT's naturally based ingredients build up in the skin over a number of weeks - resulting in a gradual slowing down in the melanin production process , so excessive production is normalised safely
This is achieved by THIOSPOT's capability of inhibiting Tyrosinase ; the enzyme responsible for triggering melanin pigment.
THIOSPOT is a safe alternative to the banned hydroquinone and does not contain arbutin or bearberry - which are distant relations to hydroquinone.
Instead, THIOSPOT is a combination of a natural chemical called THIOTIC ACID (Alpha Lipoic acid) and LINOLEIC ACID (Ethyl linoleate) .
These are used in conjunction with LACTIC ACID - an exfoliant which encourages the pigment to come to the surface quicker - the combination of these ingredients work in synergy together reducing the manufacture of melanin
THIOSPOT is absorbed into the skin to the depth of the pigmented area where it can be effective in reducing pigmentation problems .

Apply to defined pigment spots once or twice a day
